Sharanjit is a Principal at Finity with nearly 30 years’ experience in actuarial consulting in the UK and Australia, and as a senior executive at global general insurers. He was named as the joint 2023 Actuary of the Year by the Actuaries Institute. He is a leading expert on climate change, and awarded Insurance Leader of the Year 2022 by ANZIIF for his climate change work. He advises insurers, banks, investors, asset owners and governments on climate risk assessment, management, strategy and reporting. In 2022, he advised the Insurance Council of Australia on evaluating adaptation and resilience measures, authored a green paper for the Actuaries Institute on Home insurance affordability and socioeconomic equity in a changing climate, and gave a TEDxSydney talk on climate change and banks and insurers. He was awarded Risk Manager of the Year 2020 by the Climate Alliance, and has received the Actuaries Institute’s Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his service on the Institute’s Climate Change Working Group.
